They have the most honorable job on the planet: they are doctors, and there is no other profession on earth where one sees so much pain, both physical and spiritual.
The hospital is a slice of modern life, which includes everything from compassion to crime, heroic deeds to negligence. The common thread tying together the events that take place in the hospital is reality, which is sometimes cruel and is always unexpected.
