The Inherited Crime
Anya’s summer plans change overnight. Instead of a fun student internship program in Ukraine’s Crimea she has to go to the country house in the Moscow suburbs where her granddad, a member of the Academy of Sciences, is dying. He begs Anya to prove to everyone that he is not guilty of the death of his two closest friends. Just before dying, Anya’s granddad utters a strange word ‘Kankara’, and the girl decides to solve the puzzle. She doesn’t know yet that she will not only have to immerse herself in what was going on in faraway 1966 but to face grave danger. This is the only way for her to unravel the mystery of the Kankara River.
