‘PASHA, THE LUCKY DEVIL’ Premiered on Ukraine’s Inter TV Channel

The ‘Pasha, the Lucky Devil’ TV series premiered on Ukraine’s Inter TV channel on October 23, when first four episodes were broadcast. Further on, the TV show will be broadcast Monday through Thursday at 9:30 p.m., with two episodes per day.

Location shooting was conducted in the Leningrad region and St. Petersburg and soundstage shooting was carried out in the RWS St. Peterburg studio. There was always a warm creative atmosphere on the set, which charmed the actors and actresses from Moscow; Irina Apeksimova, Ekaterina Kudrinskaya, and Igor Petrenko. Igor Petrenko celebrated his birthday in Gatchina (Leningrad region) during the locating shooting. On his day off he bought food, brought a home theater and invited the whole crew to join him by the river, where he had set up a makeshift outdoor movie theater, screening ‘Mr. Nobody’.

“‘Pasha, the Lucky Devil’ is a positive story. When I was told it I said I’d be in even without reading the script,” Igor Petrenko said. “And I made the right choice. I’ve been enjoying the work and the crew from the very first day. It’s a rare thing when you absolutely enjoy working and communicating with your colleagues! When I arrive at work I’m happy to see everyone and everyone is smiling. This is an absolutely positive and inspirational story and I’d like viewers to feel our love while watching the show.”

‘Pasha, the Lucky Devil’ is a romance series about the ups and downs of life. Life’s often been so good to Pavel (Pasha) Golubtsov (Igor Petrenko) that he’s started to take it for granted. But when the destiny’s smile turns into an evil sneer, 30-year-old Pasha, an ex-spoilt child of fortune, will lose everything, his successful career, a luxurious apartment and a beautiful girlfriend, Marina, in a blink of an eye.

Pavel will end up in a prison settlement and will lose everything, the young woman he loves, the mother he adores, his promising job, and his apartment, which will go towards repayment of his loans.

Having no means for a living, he will have to take up a new job, struggle for a place in the sun in a hostile city, and take care of kids he’ll save from their tyrant father. But fate has had enough fun with Pavel and now has a present for him, the one he really deserves. This present is a beautiful, loving, and faithful woman.

Filming was completed in soundstages of the RWS studio in St. Petersburg, where sets of the hero’s home had been built. It was the first time when Ekaterina Kudrinskaya (Galya, one of the girls who Pasha will save from the horrors of life), a talented young actress, took part in soundstage shooting. “It was a useful experience for me. At first, it was strange that the beautiful home interior, designed under the leadership of Mariya Belozerova, the production designer, didn’t have the ceiling but I got used to it after a while. My film partners, Igor Petrenko, Irina Rakshina, and Irina Apeksimova, are wonderful and every day on the set with them is like a workshop. Girls playing my younger sisters, Nastya Chirkova and Ulyana Nikulina, are doing a great job like true professionals. They never complain and are always ready to work,” Ekaterina said.

Igor Petrenko liked working at the RWS St. Petersburg studio as well, “I enjoy working at the RWS St. Petersburg studio in every possible way. At first, I felt biased towards the studio like people do coming across something new or unknown. Mosfilm and Lenfilm are not just studios, they are brands. And when I heard about the RWS studio in St. Petersburg, I thought that some businessmen had built it without knowing a thing about filmmaking. Now that I’ve worked at the RWS Moscow studio and I’m working at the studio in St. Petersburg, I can say that this is how an up-to-date studio should be like. It provides perfect working conditions; it’s a clean, neat, and sophisticated studio. Actors have an opportunity both to work and rest comfortably.”
