RUSSIAN WORLD STUDIOS RECEIVES ‘OPENING OF THE YEAR’ AWARD AT CINEMA PRODUCTION SERVICE EXHIBITION
Moscow, March 19, 2009 – Russian World Studios, one of the leading film and television production companies in Russia, today received the ‘Opening of the Year’ award for its St. Petersburg studio at the Cinema Production Service (CPS) Exhibition in Moscow, held March 18-March 21.

Russian World Studios St. Petersburg, the first dedicated production studio built in Russia in the last 60 years,
was built on a $100 million initial investment. Its features include over 118,000 square feet; 6 stages; Dolby Premier Studio, designed exclusively for RWS by Harris, Grant Associates; unique patented soundproof elephant doors; polymeric covered “floating floors;” an electric top-lift hoist system, designed by ARRI exclusively for RWS, a real-time ingest server for audio and video digitizing; and a full range of production and post-production services.
The second stage of construction, estimated at an additional $150 million, to be completed by 2011, will add a 21,500 square foot stage, special effects studio and film processing lab, among many other features.
The exhibition, now in its sixth year and held at the World Trade Center Moscow, bills itself as the only specialized exhibition in Russia that provides a full range of services for film and TV production, and draws participants from 11 countries, including film studios, professional service providers, and equipment manufacturers.
