RWS Has Entered the TV and Film Producers’ Association

During a meeting of the chief executives of TV and film production companies it was decided to launch the TV and Film Producers’ Association to coordinate its members’ activities and defend their interests.

The Association will comprise 18 major companies that produce more than 80% of TV content including major Russian companies such as RWS, AMEDIA, Central Partnership, Lean-M.

The Association launch was caused by the necessity to assist the production companies in overcoming the crunch and sustaining industry activity.

In light of the recent events the TV channels have lowered the purchase prices for series by 30-40% while the production costs still hold steady.

“50-60% of the budget is allocated for the talent staff fees; technical services (equipment and props rental) cost another 30%,” says Yuri Sapronov, RWS CEO. – “The daily fee of one actor used to amount to $1,5-10 thousand, screenwriters and directors fees – about $5-15 thousand.“

The Association will recommend that their members stick to the new price level on every production stage.
