“Atlantis” Nominated at 2 International Festivals

“Atlantis” has been nominated at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in the Drama TV Series and Outstanding International Producer categories and at the BANFF World Television Festival in Canada in the Telenovela and Serial Programs category.
Monte Carlo Television Festival was created in 1961 by the Prince Rainier III who wished to encourage a new art form, soap opera. The project generated worldwide interest and over the years many outstanding film personalities have participated in the festival as juries. In 2002 the festival was reorganized and its new image was presented: additional categories, international premieres within the framework of the festival and presence of world renowned celebrities were included. Now the event is held at the beginning of June.
In 2008, the 48th Monte Carlo Television Festival took place June 8th – 12th. Along with “Atlantis” such TV series as “Lost” (producer: ABC STUDIOS, USA), “The Sopranos” (producer: HOME BOX OFFICE, USA), “The Clinic” (producer: RTÉ, Ireland), “The Border” (producer: WHITE PINE PICTURES, Canada) and others were nominated in the Drama TV Series category.
The BANFF World Television Festival in Canada is one of the most prestigious international events. It has been created to promote development of business and creative opportunities for television content creators. The festival was held in June at the “Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel” located in the Canadian Rockies. During the festival, deals worth $ 600 mln were made in 2007. BANFF is widely acknowledged among the professionals in this field since it provides a global platform for networking. The event organizers received more than 900 entries from 44 countries.
In 2008, the 29th BANFF World Television Festival took place June 8th – 11th. Among “Atlantis” competitors there were the Spanish TV series “Love in Difficult Times” (producer: DIAGONAL TV) and the German TV series “Turkish for Beginners” (producer: Hofmann&Voges Entertaiment).
